Faiz Kazi is a B.Sc., Electronics graduate from The New College, Chennai. When he took his GRE he was employed as a Software Developer in a leading IT organization in Chennai. This is what Faiz had to say about his GRE Preparation.
"The decision to take the GRE was a big one for me. I came from a non-engineering background, and I was employed at the time as a software developer. After nearly two years in the field, I felt the need to further my education and move ahead - I took the drastic step of quiting my job altogether.
At this point it was clear to me that both time and money were precious and I could not afford to make a wrong move by randomly joining a mainstream training program.
In this regard, the actual usefulness of my experiences with the personnel at TOPGRE proved very valuable - given the small timeframe I had for preparation.
The well-documented and practical 'howtos' that comprise the study material were significant to me in overcoming my problem areas: Logical Reasoning in the GRE Analatyical section, and Data Interpretation (charts & graphs) in Quant. It was interesting to note that the material as well as the personal advise, stressed on concepts and understanding - all of which were quite simple to implement; I recall my Analytical score touched 700 from the starting point of a mere 510 - 560 - once these concepts hit home.
As for Verbal, I do not recall a single interaction when I was not quized rapid-fire vocabulary questions - Also, the reading tips I picked up were effective in raising my RC performance.
Equally important were a few invaluable tips I picked up on managing time, stress and handling attitude - I believe these relatively intangible factors play an important role, and in this respect, I certainly fared much better than I would have. I scored 2130 in my GRE.
I wish you all success in your GRE Prep and subsequent apping process.
